How to Stop Liking One's Crush

If you have a crush on someone that is distracting you from schoolwork or making you miserable because he doesn't feel the same way, try these strategies to put an end to it. Once you stop liking him, you'll be able to concentrate on your friends, activities, studies and maybe even have time to meet someone new.

Instructions

1. Stay away from the places where he typically hangs out. Take another route to class or sit in a different place at lunch, for example. The less you see him on campus or at the mall or friends' houses after school, for example, the less you'll be tempted to think about him.

2. Make excuses to spend less time with him if he's a friend and has no idea that you have a crush on him. Tell him you need to spend more time doing homework, completing chores around the house or working at your after school job, for instance.

3. Block his number on your cell phone and delete his name from your instant messaging accounts until you stop liking him and consider him just a friend again.

4. Fill your days with activities to occupy your mind. Join a new club, volunteer for a local charity or take a class to develop a new interest or hobby. Maybe you'll meet a guy there who likes you and shares your interests.

5. Realize that you deserve someone who likes you just as much as you like him. Spending time pining over your crush is time that you could be spending on your schoolwork, with friends or developing a new relationship.

6. Concentrate on his negative qualities. Once you can start criticizing him in your mind, you'll start to realize that he's not as perfect as you made him out to be.
