How to Write a Birthday Invitation

Birthdays are always a lot of fun and having a party is a great way to celebrate them. Whether it is a huge party or a small one you should always send birthday invitations. Decide if you are going to make them or buy them, but making them adds to the fun and shows a personal interest. The following will describe how to write a birthday invitation.

Instructions

1. Buy or make your birthday invitations. If you make the birthday invitations it is usually better to write the information on the cards rather than have them pre-printed. Although this saves time, it is always better to go with the personal touch if you have the time.

2. Make your invitations and put in the following information--date, time, the name of the person who the party is for, the name of the person to RSVP to, a phone number, where the party is going to be and the type of party.

3. If this is a surprise party, make sure you state that on the invitation or it may be a costume party and you need to let the people know that too.

4. State exactly who you are inviting to the party. Be sure to include this in the invitation. If you are addressing the invitation to a family make sure they are aware it is for the family not just the parents or kids. If you only want the adults--say so--if you only want the kids--state that--you don't want any misunderstandings.

5. Address the envelopes either by hand or on the computer and put the invitations in the envelopes. Make sure you put postage on the envelopes if you are mailing them. Either hand deliver the invitations or mail them and get ready for the big day.
