Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cardstock
  • Rubber stamps
  • Glue
  • Paintbrush
  • Scrap paper
  • Glitter
  • Glitter glue
  1. Step 1

Cover your work surface with a large piece of scrap paper to catch excess glitter and return it easily to the jar. (Just bend the paper to act as a "funnel" and pour the tiny flakes back into the container.)

  2. Step 2

Create a detailed glitter image by "painting" a light coat of glue over the surface of the stamp, working quickly so it doesn't dry. Press the image onto your cardstock, sprinkle with glitter and tap off the excess. Wash your stamp immediately to remove any remaining adhesive.

  3. Step 3

Add bling to stamped letters, numbers and solid shapes by outlining them with glitter glue. Available in a variety of colors, the medium applies and adheres the glitter in a single step. See the Resources section for a link.

  4. Step 4

Design patterns on bold stamped images with glitter glue. Add plaids, stripes or polka dots to solid hearts, for example. You can also create flourishes with glue and a paintbrush before sprinkling with glitter.

  5. Step 5

Fill in outline stamps with a layer of glitter glue. Look for alphabet, star, heart, flower and leaf stamps that only feature an outer edge. Rather than adding color with pencils or pens, coat the surface with glue and add different shades of glitter.

  6. Step 6

Highlight stamped images by applying glitter glue to specific portions of the design. Adorn the center of a paisley border, color the flame on a birthday cake candle or add sparkle to the diamond on a wedding ring stamp, for example.
