The Bowflex Revolution is an extremely versatile and effective exercise machine. You can use a Bowflex Revolution for a cardio workout even though it is best for strength training. You can use a Bowflex Revolution to strength train in the upper body, abs and core, and lower body. Read on to learn how to use a Bowflex Revolution.

  1. Step 1

    Consult with your physician before starting any exercise program. Your physician can help determine if a particular piece of exercise equipment, such as the Bowflex Revolution, is appropriate for your needs.

  2. Step 2

    Read the manuals that accompany your Bowflex Revolution. The manuals provide instructions for maintenance of your equipment, as well as instructions about how to use a Bowflex Revolution.

  3. Step 3

    Watch the Bowflex Revolution "Revolutionary Workout" videos, available from the Bowflex Revolution website, or use the optional Bowflex iTrainer software to monitor your workouts.

  4. Step 4

    Set the resistance on your Bowflex Revolution to an appropriate level. You can have up to 300 lbs. of resistance with the optional Bowflex Revolution SpiraFlex Resistance Plate Upgrade.

  5. Step 5

    Start out with slow and easy exercises. It is easy to become overeager when you first start to use a Bowflex Revolution, and you're much better off building up your strength and stamina over time.

Tips & Warnings
  • The Bowflex Revolution may not be ideal for everyone. If you are shorter than 5 feet, 8 inches, for example, you may have difficulty performing the exercises. In addition, if you are able to exercise with more than 300 lbs. the Bowflex Revolution may not meet your strength training needs.
