How to Get NFL Internships

Internships are often the best way for a person to get his foot in the door of industry or company. With a highly coveted internship like the ones available for the NFL, the competition is difficult. For a sports fan or anyone interested in a sports career, it is one of the best avenues to this enterprise.

      Possess the necessary skills for the internship. You can apply for as many internships as you like, but if you do not have the requisite skills it will be an exercise in futility. Usually National Football League internships are business oriented in nature.

      Match the available internships with your job experience, education, location and skill set. You can try to get NFL internships that are outside the scope of your qualifications, but in reality, you most likely will not even get an interview for the internship.

      Customize your resume and cover letter to fit the job description of the position that interests you. It is important to not lie or fabricate information on your resume or cover letter. However, you can use keywords from the job description to tailor your resume and cover letter for the position without submitting false information.

      Submit the resume and a cover letter for the NFL internship. Be sure to double-check all the information on the resume and cover letter before you submit it to the NFL hiring agency.

      Wait for the response from the submitted resume and cover letter. It may take some time but most internships have closing dates that will indicate if your application was successful.

      Interview for the internship position with an NFL teams hiring agent, or one of the team's agents. Be sure to research the position thoroughly before the interview to make sure you understand and anticipate any interview questions.
