How to Solve the Ouija Board Mystery

What is the secret mystery to the Ouija board? Are you and your friends really channeling spirits from beyond the grave when you touch the sliding pointer, causing it to spell out the answers to your questions on the board? To solve the supposed mystery, you must first have a clear mind and not let superstition cloud your judgment.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

1. Make sure more than one person is using the board at the same time and preferably three or more. With two people or fewer playing, it's easy to believe that one of you is controlling and moving the pointer.
2. See if anyone knew the answer to a question asked or at least thought they knew the answer. If this is the case, it's likely that this caused them to move the pointer unconsciously or maybe even intentionally.
3. Ask a question no one in your group really knows the answer to. This will be the ultimate test to see if the Ouija board really works. See if it spells out anything that makes sense or even anything at all.
4. Blindfold everyone touching the pointer. Have one person do nothing but watch and find out if anything is spelled out when nobody touching the pointer can see the board. You are relying on the watcher's honesty.
5. Take into account all the results of all the aforementioned steps. If you aren't getting many answers that make sense now, you can deduce that the mystery is more physiological and psychological than truly spiritual.

Tips & Warnings

• Don't worry about the "protective invocation" you supposedly need to speak beforehand. Few people actually agree on what the exact words are, so you really can't fault the wrong invocation for causing anything if you use one at all.
