How to Shoot Paparazzi Photos
The word "paparazzi" is the plural form of the word "paparazzo," which is a dedicated celebrity photographer. The paparazzi gather to collect, share and sell their photos of celebrities or even just people with a modicum of entertainment value. Many vendors, entertainment organizations and news facilities rely on these photographers to provide revealing shots of media targets. Shooting paparazzi-style photos is a skill all its own.

1
Buy a great digital SLR camera that accepts different focal length lenses. Look for a quality, weather-resistant and tough-as-nails digital camera with a proven history of rough use. This is the most crucial piece of equipment to any paparazzi photographer's camera bag.
-
2
Dress for the part of paparazzi. Wear a quality photographer's vest to hold the entire picture shooting essentials. Lens cleaner, bottled water and snacks are great to take along. Hand sanitizer is a must for killing bacteria that accumulate on door handles and telephones.

3
Get in the way of the subject of the shoot. Be polite to the celebrity; yet remind them that a photographer has a job to do. Move around the person or people without actually touching them or hindering their progress. Continue to record images while moving.
-
4
Follow the celebrity to other locations. Often the subject is simply leaving one nightclub to attend another. Keep up with them and keep shooting anything interesting as it happens.
-
5
Ask permission to take candid photos and always remember that a celebrity's children are a flash point for many of them. Stay focused on the main subject and be considerate of their personal requests and needs.

Tips & Warnings
Take along a friend to help wrangle interviews, handle the equipment or drive. Another pair of eyes always helps a photographer.
Dress for whatever even the subject is attending--beachwear for the beach and formal for black tie events.
Never chase a celebrity attempting to leave in a dangerous or reckless manner. Contact authorities and describe the event to the police.
