Things You'll Need:
- Electric remote controlled car.
- NiCd battery pack and charger.
- Two-channel radio system.
-
Step 1
Choose either an electric or a nitro remote-controlled car. When you first start a remote-controlled car hobby, an electric remote controlled is easier to use and maintain than a nitro one.
-
Step 2
Decide between an on-road and an off-road remote-controlled car. On-road cars tend to have smaller wheels and sit lower to the ground. You cannot operate them on uneven surfaces. Off-road cars have larger wheels and provide a greater degree of flexibility.
-
Step 3
Purchase either a "Ready to Run" (RTR) or an "Almost Ready to Run" (ARTR) remote-controlled car. RTR cars come with a radio controller, while ARTR cars don't. After you practice the hobby for a while, you may wish to purchase a remote-controlled car kit, which you assemble yourself.
-
Step 4
Find other remote controlled car enthusiasts to race, learn from and share your hobby.
