It's a super treat any day of the year, but a chocolate chip milkshake is especially cool and refreshing on a hot summer day. Mix one up and treat yourself to something wonderful.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 cups chocolate chip mint ice cream
  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
  • 6 Tbsp. non-dairy whipped topping
  • 2 Tbsp. miniature chocolate chips or chocolate shavings
  1. Step 1

Put the half-and-half in a blender or food processor, and add the mint chocolate chip ice cream. Turn the blender on low until the ice cream and half-and-half is mixed, then increase the speed to high and continue blending until the mint chocolate chip milkshake is blended and creamy.

  2. Step 2

Pour the mint chocolate chip milkshake into two tall glasses.

  3. Step 3

Garnish the milkshakes with a large dollop of whipped topping, and sprinkle some miniature chocolate chips or shaved chocolate over the top.

  4. Step 4

    Serve and enjoy immediately.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you like the flavor of coffee, vary the recipe a bit by adding a spoonful of chilled coffee or mocha.
  • If you're concerned about the fat content in your milkshake, substitute low-fat or 1-percent milk for half-and-half. The milkshake won't be as thick and rich, but it will still be delicious.
  • If you have a strong chocolate craving, add a squeeze or two of chocolate syrup.
