Things You'll Need:
- Heat source (campfire or heat beads)
- Cardboard box
- Aluminum foil
- 2 or 3 wires or thin metal poles
-
Step 1
Cut the top and bottom off of the cardboard box. Depending on what you're using your toaster oven to cook, you may want to add the top to close in the heat, so save one of the sides just in case.
-
Step 2
Wrap all the sides of the box in aluminum foil so that no cardboard is exposed. If you need to, use duct tape to tape down the foil, though you should be able to wrap it over itself with no problem.
-
Step 3
Use the wires or poles to poke holes in two opposite sides of the box and form the rack to set your food on to cook. Make sure wires sit parallel to ground so that your food won't fall into the fire.
-
Step 4
Make a pan for your food to sit on using aluminum foil if the wires are too far apart.
-
Step 5
Set the toaster oven over the fire. If you want to close the oven in, wrap the top in foil as well and set it on top of the box. Create foil flaps on the sides of the top to keep it from falling into the toaster oven.
-
Step 6
Disassemble when finished cooking and fold flat to carry with you on your camping trip.
