The popularity of social networking sites is exploding, and with globalization on the rise, the demand for multilingual social networking is also increasing. You know about Facebook and MySpace, but you're looking for a site where you can speak Spanish or Russian or maybe Japanese with others. A few sites do exist where you can talk to others in languages besides English.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Search Google for the term "multilingual social networking site." Try the search using quotation marks around the term and then without quotation marks.

  2. Step 2

Read the Google results carefully, looking for names of well-known multilingual social networking sites such as XIHA Life, MyPacis.Eu and Asoboo (see Resources below).

  3. Step 3

Visit each of the sites that appear in your search results. Check each site to see if the languages you speak are represented there.

  4. Step 4

Join the networks that serve your languages and begin meeting other people that speak them.

Tips & Warnings
  • As with any social networking site, read and understand the terms of the network you are joining before you sign up. Keep in mind your privacy and how well matched your language skills will be with those of others.
