Whether you're racking up frequent flyer miles or want a place to hang out and access the Internet, Google Maps can easily show you all of your free Wi-Fi destination options. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to find free Wi-Fi options using Google Maps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Follow the Google Maps link in the Resources section below. The Google display on the webpage should be in "Map" view. However, if isn't, just click the "Map" button. Additional views, such as "Street View," "Traffic," "Satellite" and "Terrain" are also available.

  2. Step 2

Use these additional views to give you a better understanding of conditions in a particular area once you've determined the location of a free Wi-Fi spot.

  3. Step 3

Locate the "Find businesses" link on the page and click it.

  4. Step 4

Type "Free Wi-Fi" in the "What" field. Type your destination zip code in the "Where" field.

  5. Step 5

Click the "Search Businesses" button and Google Maps will find the closest businesses that feature free Wi-Fi.

  6. Step 6

Choose the location that fits your needs by clicking on the location's text link or by clicking on a Google Maps map marker. When you are on the Google Maps webpage, a balloon will pop-up above the location's address and contact information. Click on the "Get directions" link for site-to-site directions.

  7. Step 7

Send the free Wi-Fi spot directions to your email, phone, car or GPS system by clicking on the "Send" link. You can also save the location to your Google Maps account in the "My Maps" section.
