Making your icons smaller in Firefox can add space to your browser window and streamline your web-browsing experience. Smaller icons also gives you more space on your toolbar to add more preferred icons. Follow these tips to make your Firefox icons smaller.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open your Firefox browser in a new window.

  2. Step 2

Locate the browser's menu. Click on "View," "Toolbars" and "Customize."

  3. Step 3

Allow the pop-up to load. Some users may experience a slight lag in the browser's functionality and change in its appearance while the pop-up loads--don't exit out of the browser or window before the loading has completed.

  4. Step 4

Navigate to bottom of the pop-up window. Find the "Use Small Icons" option and check it.

  5. Step 5

Customize any other icon options you desire. Smaller icons in Firefox mean that you can fit more into the browser without having it seem cluttered. Place more icons onto your browser by dragging and dropping them onto the toolbar.

  6. Step 6

    Click "Done."

  7. Step 7

Exit out of the pop-up window and close your browser. Restart the browser for the changes to take effect.

Tips & Warnings
  • To restore Firefox's icons to their normal size, simply access the pop-up window again and uncheck "Use Small Icons."
  • Add another toolbar to the browser if you want to fit more icons onto your browser than allowed on a single toolbar.
  • Restore the default icons onto your browser by selecting "Restore Default Set" in the pop-up window and clicking "Done."
