How to Use Spell Check in Adobe Acrobat

      Start Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional and open the PDF document to which you would like to check the spelling.

      Choose the "Edit" menu, point to "Check Spelling" and click "In Comments." The "Check Spelling" dialog box will open into the Acrobat desktop.

      Press the "Start" button in the upper right corner of the "Check Spelling" dialog box to begin the spell check process. If you have any words that are not included in the Adobe Acrobat dictionary, they will be brought up into the "Word not found" text box area at the top of the dialog box.

      Click the "Ignore" button to ignore the misspelling of the word or "Ignore All" to ignore the misspelling of that word every time it appears in the PDF. These options are used when you would like to not use a suggestion used by Acrobat and keep the original spelling.

      Select a word from the "Suggestions" text box to replace a misspelled word with one from the text box. Click the "Change" button to change the misspelling to the selected word or "Change All" to change all instances of the misspelling to the selected word.

      Use the "Add" button to add the misspelling to the Adobe Acrobat dictionary.

      Respond to all instances of misspelling in the same manner you did the first word. When there are no more misspellings, "" will appear in the "Suggestions" text box. Click the "Done" button to close the dialog box and return to your document.

    Totally worthless! Here's the klunky work-around. File-Export-Rich Text Format. Open the resulting rtf with OpenOfficeOrg Writer (or Microsloth Turd) and press F7 to do the spelling.

    Only one important detail you missed entirely: This only spellchecks the text in comments you or some other editor added -- NOT the main body of the text in the PDF. So... basically useless.
