How to Make Time go by Faster

There are a few good sayings associated with time. "A watched clock never moves" and "Time flies when you are having fun" are two that come to mind. If you want time to go faster, you need to find some activities that will keep you busy, not clock watching.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Play with your kids. Spending time taking a walk with your children or answering a question will make the time go by faster. Children have a way of distracting you from everything so use this to your advantage.
Step2
Watch a TV show that actually gets your mind off the clock. Some shows only make you want to watch the clock more so find a program--like a murder mystery or a soap opera--which gets you involved and makes the time go faster.
Step3
Get involved in a task that completely involves you. For example, you can clean up your paperwork. This task takes a lot of concentration as you make sure to place each item in the proper place. Other tasks could be studying and cleaning.
Step4
Immerse yourself in your work. If you are dealing with a particularly hard problem, this will require all your attention and before you know it, it will be time to go home. This works particularly well on a Friday afternoon. You may want to put the task off until Monday, but if you tackle it now, the day will be over before you know it.
Step5
Talk to other people to avoid clock watching. Relating a story about the latest antics of your children makes the time go by faster. Listening to stories also makes the time pass.
