Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Apple
- Screwdriver
- Nail
- Screens
- Drill and bit
- Soda can
- Straight pin
- Scissors
- Aluminum foil
- Pen (shaft portion only)
- Half a pen shaft, cigar mouthpiece or other similar item (optional)
Step1
Make edible smoke pipes from apples. Use a wide, flat-head screwdriver to make a hole in the side of an apple deep enough to reach the core. Remove the stem and stick a nail into the top of the apple, creating a hole that reaches down to your larger side hole. You can now place your tobacco on a screen where the stem of the apple was and enjoy a fruity smoke, drawing air through the side hole.
Step2
Use the same apple pipe technique to create natural smoke pipes from potatoes or carrots. Carrot are a bit harder and may require a drill and drill bit to make the perfect hole. Potatoes should be scrubbed clean, but leave the peel on, as they tend to leak moisture once peeled.
Step3
Make a classic soda can smoke pipe which is fast, easy and recyclable. Empty a soda can and squeeze the middle gently, creating a flat dent. Use a straight pin or small sharp object to poke tiny holes in the dent. Make a larger hole on the side of the can as a carb. Place your tobacco over your tiny holes, hold your carb and inhale smoke through the mouth of the can.
Step4
Cut a 4 to 5 inch long piece of aluminum foil and carefully roll it around a pen to create a round tube. Pull the pen out about one inch and carefully bend up the vacant end, unwinding the foil carefully to create a bowl. Remove the pen and you have completed the pipe. The end of an aluminum smoke pipe can get very hot, so you may want to place a cigar mouthpiece, half of a plastic pen or some other object on the end.
