How to Make Citrus Perfume

Things You'll Need
- Lemon peel
- Orange peel
- Jar or bottle
- Clear alcohol, such as vodka
- Strainer
- Spring or distilled water
- Lemon essential oil
- Orange essential oil

Place your lemon and orange peels in a dark jar or bottle and cover with the alcohol. Leave this in a cool, dry place for several days to extract the scent from the peels.

Strain the peels from the liquid, discard the peel and reserve the liquid. The liquid should smell fresh and clean because it contains the essence of the fruit.

Pour the liquid back into the bottle and set it aside. Keep an eye on this because you'll need it in just a minute.

Mix the distilled or spring water with the essential citrus oils until well combined. This is the perfect time to check the scent level to decide if it is strong enough for your taste.

Add the water and oil mixture to the bottle and shake well to combine all the ingredients. Cap the bottle when finished.

Leave the citrus perfume you just made in a cool, dry place for two weeks, shaking occasionally. The longer you let the perfume sit, the stronger the scent will be.

To make the scent a little stronger, use less water and more oil. For a more subdued scent use more water and less oil.
