You have trouble making a decision because you're afraid to make the wrong one. You need a process that will help you stop second guessing yourself. Leave doubt behind and follow these steps to help you make any decision in six steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Stay calm and size up the situation. You don't want to panic whenever you have to make a decision. You want to make a rational decision based on calm, logical thinking.
Step2
Ensure you understand the decision. Know what the problem is and what you are up against. You need clear facts so that you know the decision will be what's best for you.
Step3
Look at all your options and know all your choices so that you can make the best decision. Ask someone if you aren't clear about the choices. You want an objective person who will just give you the facts without swaying your opinion one way or another.
Step4
Be realistic. Understand the consequences of making a decision. Every action has a reaction so what you decide can affect other people and other situations. Think about how your decision will affect others.
Step5
Create a list of all your choices and then outline the positive and the negative of each decision. See which side has more points.
Step6
Ask for advice. You can learn a lot by getting an opinion from another person especially if the person looks at the problem differently than you do. Get several opinions from people so you can look at the decision in different ways.
Step7
Make the decision and stick to it. You won't help yourself by second guessing each decision you make. You need to remain positive and confident that you have thought about your decision and made the right one.
