Take an inexpensive plain t-shirt and quickly turn it into a customized design with just a few jewels from the crafts store and a hot glue gun. Strut your stuff when you make a t-shirt with your jeweled initials across the front, or display some school spirit with your team's name. For a club fund raising project, sell jeweled t-shirts you custom make with cute sayings.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Iron and ironing board
  • T-shirt
  • Cardboard
  • Hot glue gun and glue
  • Jewels
  1. Step 1

Iron your t-shirt and place it on a flat surface. Insert a piece of cardboard inside the shirt to protect the bottom layer. This will also give you a hard and even surface to work on when you apply the jewels.

  2. Step 2

Make a template for your design, either by drawing the design on paper or by marking it lightly on the t-shirt with a pencil.

  3. Step 3

    Heat a hot glue gun.

  4. Step 4

Put a drop of glue on the back of the first jewel. Place the jewel on the t-shirt and hold it down firmly for a few seconds.

  5. Step 5

Wipe away any excess glue. Glue from a hot glue gun has a tendency to leave strings of glue.

  6. Step 6

Continue with your design until you're finished. Let the glue dry completely before wearing.

Tips & Warnings
  • For a really dressy look, decorate a long-sleeved t-shirt with crystals.
  • Coordinate bottoms with your top by adding jewels to the hem of yoga pants. Wear with flip flops for a fun, casual outfit.
  • Wash your new jeweled t-shirt by hand and let it air dry.
