Muay Thai uses lots of low kicks. Fighters who learn to effectively combine multiple Muay Thai kicks are some of the fiercest martial arts fighters. The trademark style features low kicks. You must learn all about the two basic kicks before you can combine multiple Muay Thai kicks. They are the push straight thrust kick and the roundhouse kick.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Combine multiple Muay Thai kicks beginning with the push straight and thrust kick. Root yourself with legs slightly apart with one leg slightly more forward. Lift the forward leg bringing it in towards your body then push it out in a linear position. Quickly follow with a roundhouse kick performed by kicking the rear leg out, pivoting the hip around toward your rear.
Step2
Perform double kicks alternated with roundhouse kicks by rotating yourself in the basic Muay Thai fighting stance. Perform a double push straight and thrust kick twice, making sure to throw your leg out for full impact on your opponent. Before switching to the next kick, drop your leg down without moving your weight onto it so you prepare the leg for the roundhouse kick.
Step3
Mix several versions of the push straight and thrust kick and roundhouse kick to combine multiple Muay Thai kicks. This includes low push straight thrust kicks and low roundhouse kicks which are powerful without sacrificing your balance or energy.

Tips & Warnings

  • When performing a roundhouse kick, make sure to rotate your shoulders first, followed by the hips and then support your foot in the stance in that order to perfect the movement.
