If you've ever had your car stuck in a snowdrift, you know how hard it can be to get it out. RC cars move fast, but these little cars can also get stuck in the snow fairly easily. If you find this happening to you, the following tips will get that RC car unstuck.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Salt, kitty litter, dirt or sand
  • Small shovel (optional)
  1. Step 1

Use the same process you would if it were your full size car stuck in the snow. RC cars have engines and internal components very similar to your regular car.

  2. Step 2

Apply some traction to the situation by throwing down a handful of salt, kitty litter, dirt or sand. The RC car got stuck originally because it had nothing for the wheels to grip, and the grainy substances give the tires some traction on the ground.

  3. Step 3

Move the RC car back a little bit, less than an inch, and then run it forward an inch or two. Rock the car back and forth a few times to see if it moves.

  4. Step 4

Turn your controller to the left or right, whichever way is easiest for you. Then continue the rocking motion of going forward and back.

  5. Step 5

Look for a lower area around the spot where your RC car is stuck. You have a better chance of getting unstuck if you can make your car go downhill slightly.

  6. Step 6

Lay on the gas one last time and your RC car should come unstuck from the snow.

Tips & Warnings
  • These same tips work if you find yourself stuck in the mud.
  • If your RC car is still stuck in the snow, try shoveling a small amount of snow out from around the car. Then you can follow these steps again.
  • Do not spin the tires. This does nothing except wear down your tires and cause your car to sink even deeper into the snow.
