Blogs are an excellent way to journal, record a particular life event, keep in touch with friends and family or even create a source of income. The largest blog hosting site on the Internet is Blogger, which has a variety of features. Blogger has easily accessible settings to customize your blog whether or not you're a beginner.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet access
  • Blogger account

Step1
Log in to your account at the Blogger website. In the section "Manage Your Blogs," click "Settings" for the blog you're going to edit.
Step2
Choose your "Basic" and "Publishing" settings. Here, you can add a custom domain, change your blog's title and add a description of your blog. Allow Blogger to add your blog to their listings, as well as public search engines, if you want to be found.
Step3
Decide on your "Formatting" and "Comments" preferences. Pick date and time stamps, language and time zone. Permit comments, require word verification and prevent spam with the "Comments" setting.
Step4
Archive your Blogger entries daily, weekly or monthly by adjusting the "Archiving" settings. An alternative is to change the "Email" setting to have your blog sent to you every time you publish.
Step5
Select the "Full" option for the "Site Feed" setting to allow readers to subscribe to your blog. Site feeds encourage site exposure and increases readership.
Step6
Use the "Permissions" setting to add approved authors to create a team blog.
Step7
Click the "Save Settings" button at the bottom of the page to update your changes.
