Surprise your friends and family with some shockingly scary monster toes this Halloween. The funny little toes are actually green biscuit dough wrapped around a cocktail weenie, with a bit of comical ketchup "blood." Monster toes are easy, and will make a terrific appetizer at your next Halloween get together.

From Quick Guide: Halloween Food
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 batch of biscuit dough, canned, homemade or from a baking mix
  • Green food coloring
  • Mustard or ketchup
  • Toothpicks
  • Cocktail weenies
  • Large black olives, sliced in half lengthwise
  • Butter, melted
  1. Step 1

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Step 2

Mix up a batch of biscuit dough, and add a few drops of green food coloring as you're mixing it. Canned biscuits can be brushed with coloring later.

  3. Step 3

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and spread a generous layer of ketchup over it. Use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to slice the dough about 3 to 4 inches long and about 1/2 inch wide.

  4. Step 4

Wrap each piece of dough around a cocktail weenie and press the edges to seal, and put a toothpick in each one to hold the dough in place while they cook.

  5. Step 5

Press an olive half "toenail" into one end of each monster toe.

  6. Step 6

Place the monster toes on an ungreased baking sheet and bake them until for about 15 to 20 minutes.

  7. Step 7

Remove the toothpicks from the monster toes. Brush them lightly with green food coloring mixed with melted butter, and serve them hot.
