How to Make Daddy Longlegs Cupcakes for Halloween

Daddy long legs cupcakes are so cute and fun that little trick or treaters won't be able to resist them. Put some daddy long legs cupcakes on the table for your next Halloween party, and watch them disappear frightfully fast.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/3 cup powdered cocoa
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or oil
  • 1 tsp. white vinegar
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Round candies (for spider eyes)
  • Black licorice strings
  • Candy sprinkles
  • Paper muffin cups
  1. Step 1

    Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Step 2

    Place all of the ingredients except the frosting and candy into a large mixing bowl, and blend them thoroughly with an electric mixer until all lumps have been removed and the mixture is smooth.

  3. Step 3

    Place paper muffin cups in a muffin tin and pour the batter into the tin, filling each cup about three quarters full.

  4. Step 4

    Bake the muffins for 25 minutes. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before removing them from the pan.

  5. Step 5

    Frost each cupcake with chocolate frosting, and cover it with chocolate sprinkles.

  6. Step 6

    Poke two candy eyes into the frosting.

  7. Step 7

    Cut the licorice strings into pieces approximately 4 inches long, and poke four into each side of the cupcake.
