How to Find Out Someone's Locker Combination
Whether you want to decorate someone's locker for their birthday, or put something harmless in it to play a prank on April Fool's Day, finding out someone's locker combination does take a little planning and effort. There are thousands of possible combinations, so rather than try to figure them out on your own, a little sneaking and spying is much more efficient.

1
Look on the back, if it is a free-hanging combination-style lock. Sometimes people write the numbers there, counting on the assumption that no one generally writes it there so other people wouldn't look there.
-
2
Ask the locker's owner for the combination. If the owner is your friend, wants to be your friend or is a pushover, he might give it to you willingly. Also ask anyone else who might know that combination, maybe friends of the owner.

3
Stand nearby while the owner opens her locker. Pretend to talk on a cell phone so it won't be obvious that you're loitering. Watch the dial to see which numbers she stops at. You may have to repeat this step several times until you are able to see all of the numbers, or at least the first two.
-
4
Try just the first two numbers in the combination, if you don't know the third. Turn the lock clockwise to the first number, counter clockwise past the first number to the second number, and then clockwise until it stops and cannot turn any further.
-
5
Consider other ways to open the locker without knowing the combination, such as creating a shim out of a piece of aluminum from a soda can.
