How to Make Rope
Rope is a basic item necessary for many endeavors. But if you can't afford rope and live in an area where fibrous materials abound, with only a little effort you can have yourself a means for acquiring many of life's riches, including food.

1
Gather up your fibrous materials. These can be cotton, hemp or any plant material, but they must be made of long, thin strands. Don't worry if they aren't as long as you desire the finished rope to be, as you can add strands later.
-
2
Separate the strands into three distinct piles of equal size. The closer they are to equal, the better your finished product is going to look, but you'll add strands as you go (unless your rope is exceptionally short or your strands are incredibly long).

3
Secure the bundles at one end. You can use a zip tie, but the look of the rope is better if you use a strand or so from the bundles. Maintain uniformity.
-
4
Arrange the bundles so that they're next to each other and the bound ends are aligned with each other.
-
5
Braid the fibers together, adding strands as needed. Make sure you secure the starting end somehow. Again, a zip tie or strand works if it's long enough.
-
6
Tie off the end when you reach the length that you want. Regardless of the length, you should be able to simply continue in the fashion suggested until you're done.
