How to Entertain Yourself While Shopping

Whether it's for groceries, clothing or presents, shopping plays an important role in our lives. Internet shopping has become more popular, but because there is a problem with identity theft, it is likely people will continue shopping in stores and need things to entertain themselves while they shop.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Have something to eat. If you have a long day of shopping, make sure you allow time to eat. Whether it's a candy bar or lunch, you've earned it. You need to keep up your strength for a shopping day.

  2. Step 2

Look around at the other people who are shopping. There may be a cute child or baby who will grab your attention and relieve the tediousness of shopping.

  3. Step 3

Take someone with you when you're shopping. Shopping always goes better when you have someone along to share it. Catch up on gossip or family news while you're shopping and you'll be done before you know it.

  4. Step 4

Check out the other shoppers. You may see someone you know. If you do, engage them in conversation to take a break and gather your energy to continue shopping.

  5. Step 5

Ask the opinion of the sales people if you're alone and want an opinion on something you've tried on. If you're looking for an honest opinion ask another customer--salespeople want to make a sale, they may just say want you want to hear.

  6. Step 6

Get your purchases quickly and get out of one store and onto the next to get your shopping done.
