Many instant messenger programs will allow multiple people to use the program while maintaining each individual information and Trillian is no different. Trillian has the ability to set up a different profile for each user on a shared computer and to keep all the information for each account separate and organized. Each profile has a unique login name and password.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Start Trillian and if required log in with your user name and password. Each user of Trillian sets up a user name and password when they make an account. If you are the only user, you will not be required to logon because yours is the only account.
Step2
Open the File drop down menu that appears across the top of the Trillian window. Scroll down until you find the Trillian Preferences option. Click the Trillian Preferences selection. This will open the Preferences window. The very last option is Advanced Preferences. Select this icon and the window will change.
Step3
Select the option on the left, "Shared Trillian." On the left, there is an area that displays the profiles that currently exist on Trillian. At the bottom of the area is a button that reads, "Add..." Select this button and a pop up window will appear that is the Trillian Edit Profile box.
Step4
Choose a profile name and assign a password for access to this profile. The box below these fields is to select a location where Trillian will store your information and other preferences. Select the button to the right of the blank space. You can browse through your computer's hard drive and find the place where you want Trillian to store your information.
