How to Fight Back
To fight back against a verbal attack or a physical attack, think quick and stay calm. Practice your self-defense skills ahead of time; the less you have to think about your response, the more likely you are to defend yourself with the right move.

Verbal Attack
-
1
Keep your emotions out of your response. The more emotional you are, the less you can clearly analyze the situation and make the best response.
-
2
Laugh at someone who tries to hurt you with words. Your verbal attacker wants you to get angry: don't oblige. Deflect the hurtful remark with laughter rather than letting yourself get drawn into a hurtful argument.
-
-
3
Respond to a hurtful language by remarking at how miserable your attacker must be to try and cause you pain. Tell him how sorry you that he is so miserable.
-
4
Remove yourself from the situation if you can. Explain that you refuse to participate in such a petty display, and that you're happy to discuss any problems later, when the other party can behave rationally.
Physical Attack
-
5
Take self-defense courses or martial arts instruction to learn how to deal with physical aggression. Preparation is the best way to handle a dangerous situation.
-
6
Decide if you're going to be a passive participant or an aggressive participant. If you choose to stay passive, you can deflect and block the blows. If you're aggressive, choose to fight back by returning the physical attack.
-
7
Fight dirty if your agenda is to end the attack as soon as possible. Aim for the stomach to wind your attacker and kick the groin area; this is painful for both men and women.
-
8
Walk away as soon as you can. Once your opponent steps back or you have him on the ground, it's time to go.
-
9
Accept the consequences of your choices. There are very few situations where it's okay to actively participate in a physical altercation. Be it school officials, bosses or the police, somebody will force you to take responsibility for your actions.

Tips & Warnings
Avoid trying to reason with an angry person. When someone is on the attack, she isn't going to fight fairly. Reasonable discussion is out of the question.

and sometimes the authorities persecute those who have used lethal force to defend their lives in america dont they? consider the famous case in baltimore, maryland where the brain dead states attorney, patricia bellamy tried to imprison two guys who shot and killed a crazed druggie who was coming at them with a hammer shouting,"i will kill you". this guy had broken into their business through a wall and the two men had surprised him. this pathetic case is more proof of how the "authorities" go out of their way to disarm law abiding citizens. the judge ruled in favor of the two men after the prosecuting attorney said he wouldnt go to the scene of the crime without an armed sheriff escort. in other words he knew it was a dangerous neighborhood and demanded guns (those of the sheriff) to defend him but was trying to put an innocent man in prison for doing the same thing. what a -
