Step 1
Make the first move with an interested guy friend or a new suitor. Guys are shy by nature because they are afraid of rejection. They stay away unless a woman responds favorably to them. Buy him a drink and move next to him in a bar or sports event.
-
Step 2
Ignore the cheesy pick up lines he is throwing your way because it's just a smokescreen to appear more confident. Respond with come ons of your own to level the playing field. Once he realizes you are nervous too, he'll let his guard down.
-
Step 3
Realize that actions speak louder than words. His body language sometimes says it better than he does. If his eyes dart around the room at other girls, he's either nervous or not interested. Don't be alarmed if his gaze has barely left yours because he's trying to listen to you better.
-
Step 4
Learn to drop a subject quickly as soon as he appears uncomfortable. Change the subject by telling a joke to make him smile or ask him about his interests to distract him.
-
Step 5
Understand that guys are not naturally direct. If he says the timing isn't right for a relationship, he's not interested in having one with you. Don't take offense. Pursue a relationship with a guy that's ready.
