When someone else hurts us, it is very hard to find forgiveness. Seeking forgiveness through God is the best way to help yourself forgive someone who has done harm to you. Sometimes, you do something else to harm someone and you need to be forgiven. Once again, you can turn to a higher power. Here are some simple steps to help you find forgiveness through God.

1. Know that you are not a perfect person. You will make mistakes throughout your life. Some mistakes will be small, while others will be big. No matter the mistake, you must acknowledge that you are an imperfect person.

2. Understand the hurt that has been done. No matter if you caused the hurt or if another person caused the hurt, try to understand why it occurred.

3. Calm down. As long as you stay mad at the other person, he will control you. It is hard to forgive someone else when you are mad at him.

4. Pray and ask God to help you forgive the harm that someone did to you. Ask Him for guidance and support. If you inflicted the harm, ask Him to help the other person to forgive you. God says, "Ask and you shall receive."

5. Drop any revenge you have towards the other person. Ask God to help you release your revenge.
