Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Look at their face. Sometimes you are able to determine someone's sexual orientation by looking at their faces. A gay man may be wearing makeup. His hairstyle may also be an indication of their sexual orientation. A woman with man's hairstyle could possibly be gay. Looking at someone's face or hair is not always an accurate way to determine one's sexual orientation, but it could help in some cases.
Step2
Check their clothing. Sometimes, gay people will cross dress. For example, a gay man may wear a women's dress or shoes.
Step3
Watch their movements. Gay people tend to move differently than straight people. For example, a gay man may walk or move around like a woman.
Step4
Ask. When all else fails, ask the person about their sexual orientation and preference. Most people are not ashamed to admit that they are gay or straight.
Step5
Visit their MySpace page if they have one. Many people will have their sexual orientation posted on the their MySpace page or other Internet sites.
