How to Train Like Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves is a celebrated international film star. In big budget action films Keanu demonstrates incredible action sequences and shows off his tightly toned body. Keanu is known for the special powers that he possess in film thanks in part to movie magic and charisma. Follow Keanu Reeves's training regime, with these tips.

  1. Step 1

    Participate in sports. Keanu Reeves regularly plays basketball and ice hockey. Sports help him to build up endurance and stay in good conditioning.

  2. Step 2

    Get a trainer. While filming "Speed" Keanu worked with an Olympic trainer, during "The Replacements" Keanu received training from NFL quarterback Bo Gagliano.

  3. Step 3

    Lift weights. To prepare for his role in "Speed" Keanu had to build up his arm muscles, focus on targeting the upper arms to get a more defined "cut" appearance.

  4. Step 4

    Study a martial arts style. For "The Matrix" film trilogy Keanu spent months studying Kung Fu under acclaimed choreographer Yuen Woo Ping. Trying any martial arts style can help tone strengthen your body.

  5. Step 5

    Develop core strength. The incredible back bends seen in "The Matrix" films requires incredible core strength, train with yoga and exercise balls to build up abs, back, hips and pelvic muscles.

  6. Step 6

    Build leg strength. Keanu displays amazing lower body strength in his films. Deadlifts, lunges and squats are a few examples of exercises that can develop your thighs, hamstrings and quad muscles.

  7. Step 7

    Stick with a program for the long term. A body like Keanu's isn't developed overnight, create a routine with your trainer and expect to train for several months to experience long lasting results.
