2. Watch political shows on television and contrast what passes for politics today to inane tabloid headlines. David Brenner has no patience for today's political blather and uses his wit and sarcasm to poke fun at the silliness of it all.
3. Read and understand as much as you can about current and historical politics. Mr. Brenner is anything but uninformed because he knows the politics he jokes about. You can't properly lampoon a topic if you do not fully understand the topic.
4. Utilize little known political references to add depth to the Joke. Arcane references not only keep the audience guessing, but also makes you appear smart and gains the respect of the audience while telling a political joke.
