Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Continue to redefine yourself. According to Sir Mick Jagger, "the past is a great place...but I don't want to be its prisoner." Indeed the Stones have shown incredible staying power in the charts due to their ability to reinvent their timeless sound.
Step2
Never take yourself (or your accomplishments) too seriously. Jagger tries to keep success at arm's length stating, "It's a good thing not to be too involved with what you have done."
Step3
Know your limitations. The Stones front man has said that, "It's alright letting yourself go as long as you can get yourself back." Indeed, Jagger and the Stones have bounced back from adversity many times during their 40-year career.
Step4
Keep things simple. Guitarist Keith Richards has long been suspicious of technology claiming, "technology is the least important thing," when making a rock and roll recording.
Step5
Take chances and be familiar with the people you work with. Richards believes that great music only comes through "people playing together, knowing what they want to do and going for it."
Step6
Express yourself and never back down. The man once voted "Most Likely to Die," has said that, "rock and roll (is) an unassailable outlet for...rebellion." In addition, Richards stated that (rock music) "used to be one channel you could take without ever having to kiss ass."
