Step 1
Get into the cheerleader's ready position. Your feet are shoulder-width apart, hands behind your back and your back is straight.
-
Step 2
Pull your arm up in front of your body. Keep your elbows in. Do the clasp with your elbows close to your body to prevent the "chicken wing" look.
-
Step 3
Touch the edge of your thumbs to your cheek to make sure your hands are in the correct position.
-
Step 4
Hold your hands up with your palms facing each other. Close your fingers. Bring your hands 2 inches away from each other. Do not try to interlace the fingers during this move.
-
Step 5
Cup your palms. This creates the small bowl shape that produces this distinctive sound.
-
Step 6
Push your hands together quickly, placing your fingers on your right hand between the left hand's thumb and fingers. Pull the hand out once you make the loud sound. Practice the cheerleading clasp until your hand makes a low-pitched, popping sound.
