Cheerleaders use cheers, chants, dances and routines to excite crowds and increase team spirit at sporting events. The low touchdown is an arm movement that all cheerleaders need to know. Many cheerleading contests and tryouts require this move.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Keep your back straight and your head facing forward.

  2. Step 2

Make fists with both hands and raise them above your head as if you were a human football goalpost. Your hands are now straight above your head, shoulder-width apart.

  3. Step 3

Pull your arms straight down in front of your body. Keep your hands in fists and facing each other. Do not pull your elbows in or bend your back.

  4. Step 4

Look at your arms. When the low touchdown is done properly, your hands are 2 to 4 inches in front of your body. Do not pull them to the side. This is a Low "V." Practice the move until you have it down.

Tips & Warnings
  • Stretch your muscles before practice and performances to avoid injury.
