Hitting a baseball from a tee can improve your game swing. Working with a tee helps the batter focus on hitting a pitch in specific locations. Daily hitting practice with a tee is recommended for all levels of baseball players from Little League to the majors.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Set the tee to a height within your the strike zone, which is generally from the top of your knees to your arm pits.

  2. Step 2

Locate the tee to simulate the type of pitch you wish to practice hitting. Set the tee up on the outside corner to simulate an outside pitch. Move the tee to the middle to practice hitting to center field. Place the tee on the inside of the plate to simulate an inside pitch.

  3. Step 3

Focus on hitting on top of the ball. Hit with a slightly down approach. Keep your hands on the inside of the bat.

  4. Step 4

Use a start and stop hitting drill. Stride toward the field rather than the ball. Wait 5 seconds before you hit the ball. Maintain balance. Concentrate on staying back and not lunging toward the ball.

  5. Step 5

Make contact with the ball. Swing easily and aim for solid contact. Hit for placement and accuracy, not power.

Tips & Warnings
