Things You'll Need:
- Large background stamp
- Ink pad
- Card stock
-
Step 1
Choose your background stamp. Background stamps are typically much larger than traditional stamps because they're meant to fill up large spaces with just one or two stampings. They can be decorative with swirls or ornamental things, or they can be text-based.
-
Step 2
Ink your stamp. Lay the stamp upside down and drag the ink pad across the surface until you coat the entire stamp.
-
Step 3
Set up the paper. If you want to see where the ink is going to go, leave the stamp upside down and place a piece of cardstock over the top of the stamp. Take a scrap piece of card stock that's slightly larger than the stamp itself and place it over both the stamp and the first piece of card stock.
-
Step 4
Prepare to transfer the ink by holding both pieces of paper still with one hand. Use the other to rub over the paper across the surface of the stamp until the ink has transferred to the paper.
