You can create customized kitchen placemats by adding photographs to them. Print the photograph on special fabric paper and use that to sew placemats. Or, you can adhere the photos to craft paper and laminate the finished product.

  • Photographs
  • Scissors
  • Embellishments
  • Acid-free adhesive
  • Self-laminating sheets

    Fabric Kitchen Placemats

  1. Step 1

    Print your photograph out on fabric paper, which you can find at fabric and craft stores.

  2. Step 2

    Remove the paper backing to reveal the photograph printed directly on the fabric.

  3. Step 3

    Lay out your fabric however you like, then pin your design down.

  4. Step 4

    Stitch your kitchen placemat together. For an especially crafty touch, you can use quilting techniques.

    Choose a piece of paper large enough to be a kitchen placemat.

    Position the photo you want to use on the paper.
