You want to measure and cut enough fabric to cover the board that secures your window valance to the wall. It's easy enough to do, and taking the time will give your valance a polished, professional look.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Lay your fabric out on a large work surface. Place the valance board on top of the fabric. Position the board so that the pattern lines up perfectly with your window valance.

  2. Step 2

Cut the fabric to fully cover the board. Use a good pair of pinking shears to get a clean line at the edge of your fabric.

  3. Step 3

Fold the fabric over the valance board so the edges are on the side of the board that goes up against the window valance. This way, they won't show.

  4. Step 4

Pull the fabric taunt and staple it in place. Apply even pressure when pulling the fabric and make sure you're not pulling the pattern to one side or the other.
