How to Install a Valance Using L Brackets

Installing L-brackets is a quick way to hang your window valances securely. Screw the L-brackets into the wall and position the window valance. Mark the spots wherever you want to screw the L-brackets into the wall and drill your holes.

Things You'll Need:

• Window valance
• L-brackets
• Drill
• Pencil

1. Attach the L-brackets to the wall. Screw them into wall studs or use anchors to secure the L-brackets safely.

2. Place the window valance in the spot where you'd like to mount it.

3. Use your pencil to mark the window valance in the spots where the screws will attach to the L-brackets.

4. Drill small holes in your window valance in the spots you marked in Step 3. Drilling insures the window valance won't split during installation.

5. Return the window valance to the L-brackets and line up the marks. Screw through the L-brackets and into the window valance. Adjust the fabric of your window valance if necessary.
