Once you learn the techniques of self hypnosis, you'll be able to feel your emotions much more deeply. Getting in touch with your feelings can help you to identify your goals and desires and bring them to fruition. Give it a try, and you may be amazed at the results.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Decide on a purpose or goal that you would like to achieve. This can be nearly anything, such as quitting smoking, eliminating a physical complaint, relieving depression, losing weight, earning a promotion at work or improving your golf game.
Step2
Find a peaceful place where you won't be interrupted for several minutes. Sit quietly in a comfortable chair. If you want, turn on some relaxing music. State the purpose to yourself in your mind or out loud. Use positive language as in "I'm free of cigarettes, and it feels wonderful."
Step3
Breathe deeply. Inhale slowly through your nose and imagine your stomach filling like a balloon. Exhale through your nose and imagine the air going from your diaphragm, up through your body and exiting through the top of your head.
Step4
Imagine yourself enjoying your imagined goal as if it's already happened. Visualize yourself not smoking or picture yourself hitting that perfect shot on the golf course. Concentrate on your feelings after achieving this success.
Step5
Picture yourself being happy and joyful in your new situation. Practice self hypnosis every day, focusing on positive feelings and on achieving your various goals.
