How to Cook Sausage for Lasagna

When it comes to preparing a hearty and tasty meal that is cost effective, look no further than lasagna. With layers of noodles, meat, cheese and tomato sauce it's a filling meal, although you'll probably have room for seconds. Here is how to cook the sausage for your lasagna before you assemble it and place it in the oven.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Slice your Italian sausage lengthwise down the middle of each link.

  2. Step 2

    Remove the sausage from its casing.

  3. Step 3

    Place a splash of olive oil into your frying pan and put it over a medium-high flame.

  4. Step 4

    Add your sausage to the pan and stir constantly until the sausage has cooked through.

  5. Step 5

    Remove the sausage and place it on a paper towel on a plate. Pat the sausage with a paper towel to remove any excess oil.

  6. Step 6

    Sprinkle the sausage into its own layer on your lasagna, or add it to your tomato sauce.

Tips & Warnings
  • For a twist on your lasagna recipe, cook it with both sweet and spicy Italian sausage.
