There are many ways to prepare steak. However, the goal of any recipe is to produce a moist and tender piece of meat. Chopped steak cooks quickly so you must be careful not to burn it when you're searing it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Frying pan
  • Olive oil
  • Chopped steak patties
  • Spatula for flipping
  1. Step 1

Pour enough olive oil into your frying pan to coat the bottom. Warm the oil over a high heat. Note when smoke starts rising off the olive oil. Your pan is ready for the meat.

  2. Step 2

Drop in your chopped steak patties, but don't crowd the pan. Make sure the patties don't touch each other.

  3. Step 3

Sear the patties for about 45 seconds on each side. This will lock in the juices and prep the steak for the next stage of cooking it slowly in the oven. If you are making burgers, sear the steak for the same amount of time on each side, then turn down the temperature to a medium flame and continue cooking to your liking.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a meat thermometer so that you can measure the internal temperature of the meat without having to cut into it and release all of the juices.
