Ceviche is a refreshing mix of shellfish, tomatoes and herbs and spices. It's the perfect complement to a summer day, or the perfect appetizer to a heavier course which might accompany it later. Here are some tips on how to plate your ceviche recipe so that your guests are not only impressed by the flavor, but the presentation as well.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Ceviche (pre-made)
  • Martini glasses
  • Spoon
  • Crustini rounds
  • Prawns or shrimp

Step1
Scoop two spoonfuls of your Ceviche base (this is essentially a form of a fresh salsa, the contents of which depend up on the recipe you are using) and place it into the martini glass.
Step2
Add two crustinis on the side of your martini glass. If you wish to serve your ceviche recipe without crustinis, you can provide small spoons for your guests to utilize.
Step3
Place two jumbo prawns, shrimp or whatever seafood is to your liking on the other side of the glass and your ceviche is ready to serve.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you need to plate ceviche for a large party of guests, go to your local party store and buy plastic martini glasses. If they are out of those, small white wine glasses work as well.
  • When you plate your ceviche, you can also sprig of cilantro on top.
  • When you are done with your ceviche, place the extra in the fridge in a plastic container. It will last for 2 to 3 days before it should be thrown away.
  • Always be sure to cook your shellfish thoroughly. Also, buy from a reputable seafood broker as you don't want to make a bad batch of ceviche.
