Baking cupcakes is an art for all ages. Each step contributes to the moistness and tastiness of your cupcake. To help keep your kitchen cleaner and make sure you leave nothing out or add an ingredient twice, premeasure all the dry ingredients before you begin. Here are some tips on how to make delicious cupcakes all your friends will envy.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 bowls
  • Sifter
  • Measuring cups
  • Dry ingredients from your favorite recipe
  • Small spatula
  1. Step 1

Loosen flour by sifting it into a medium size bowl. Sifting the flour allows you to get an accurate measurement.

  2. Step 2

Scoop sifted flour into the desired size measuring cup. Remove any overflow with a spatula and pour into a large bowl.

  3. Step 3

Measure any additional dry ingredients that your recipe calls for, such as salt, sugar or baking soda.

  4. Step 4

Add each ingredient individually, and stir well so the dry mixture is evenly distributed in each cupcake.

  5. Step 5

Put any nuts or dried fruit you're using into the dry mixture. Adding these to the dry mixture coats the nuts or fruit and prevents them from sinking to the bottom of your cupcake.

  6. Step 6

Mix dry and wet ingredients together. Add slowly, stirring the entire time.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to add correct measurements. Too much or too little of one thing can greatly affect the outcome of your finished cupcake.
  • Flour can become compacted, and if you measure it straight from the container, you can end up with too much. This can lead to dry cupcakes.
