Try phyllo triangles for an exotic, out of the ordinary flavor. Pair them with a normal night's meal of meat and vegetables, or for a light meal, try a Greek salad with the phyllo triangles as the main course. In order to eat phyllo triangles, though, you must learn how to properly roll them.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wax paper
  • Phyllo dough (frozen)
  • Olive oil
  • Damp dish towel
  • Filling mixture
  • Butter
  • Cookie sheet
  1. Step 1

Prepare your work surface for a quick cleanup by laying down a sheet of wax paper. Separate the phyllo dough into strips and lay them out on your work surface. Brush the dough with olive oil, then cover with another sheet of wax paper and a damp dish towel.

  2. Step 2

Place 1 tbs. of the filling mixture onto one end of the dough, about 1 inch from the end.

  3. Step 3

Roll one corner of the phyllo over the filling mixture so that the top side of the dough lines up with the side it meets. This triangle shape begins your process for the entire strip. Press down to adhere the two dough pieces together.

  4. Step 4

Pick up the pointed end and fold it down so that the point is opposite its original position.

  5. Step 5

Continue to roll until you get to the end of the phyllo strip. Don't worry if the final roll does not make a full triangle. Simply press it down where it ends.

  6. Step 6

Place the triangles on a buttered cookie sheet as you finish with each of the rolls.

Tips & Warnings
  • Kitchen skills are a requirement for this task. Newbies may need extra help.
  • You should already have your filling made before beginning this process.
  • Use only 1 tbs. of filling in each triangle. Otherwise, you will overstuff and your triangle will burst open.
