Things You'll Need:
- Soft black eyeliner pencil
- Angled shadow brush
-
Step 1
Apply your eyeliner only once you are sure your dramatic shadow color is complete. Choose a soft black eyeliner pencil, such as a coal pencil, which will go on smoothly and blend easily. Make sure that your pencil is sharp enough to create a fine line, but rounded enough that the tip does not break during application.
-
Step 2
Start at the outer corner of the eye and work out and up, creating a slightly upturned line for a dramatic cat's eye look. From the tip of your freshly drawn line, come down towards the lashes to form a thicker line at the corner of the eye.
-
Step 3
Continue drawing the line along the lid, keeping as near to the lashes as possible. The line should become more narrow as you near the corner of the eye. Look up and add a bit of eyeliner underneath the lashes as well for a dark, dramatic look.
-
Step 4
Add a fine line to your lower lashes as well, adding eyeliner from the corner of the eye to about two thirds of the way in. Finish by using and angled brush to soften the lines of your liner, blending with your shadow color to create a smoky effect.
