Things You'll Need:
- Black eye shadow
- Small shadow brush
-
Step 1
Apply color to the crease of your eye only after your base eye makeup is finished. You should have already applied an iridescent highlighting base in a neutral color, covering the entire lid from lashes to brow. Additionally, the crease color should follow your main eye color, which should be applied to the entire lid below the crease as well as under the eye.
-
Step 2
Choose a black shadow for your eye crease to create dramatic depth. You can select from a frost black, glitter black or plain matte black, depending on your overall desired look. Remember to have patience when applying shadow to the crease, since a wrong move can destroy your look.
-
Step 3
Use a small shadow brush, applying a very small amount and adding more as necessary. Black is the strongest makeup color there is, and a little goes a long way. It is better to add more than to try to fix a heavy application.
-
Step 4
Start at the outer corner of the eye, applying the shadow with light, dabbing motions. Move the color in toward the center of the eye along the lash line, blending with your lid color. Never apply your crease color further than mideye.
-
Step 5
Return to the outer corner of the eye, darkening the color, and then begin working the color into the crease of the lid. Be patient, adding color little by little, until you reach your desired darkness. Once your crease shadow is complete, you are ready to apply your eyeliner to complete your dramatic look.
